Dassault Systèmes is now able to provide augmented reality and field control technologies for manufacturing and operations.

Dassault Systèmes announced on the 11th that it has acquired Diota, a developer of assembly support and quality management software solutions for manufacturing and operations.

With this acquisition, Dassault Systèmes extends its 3DEXPERIENCE platform to virtual twin experiences applicable to the workplace. It helps customers in the aerospace and defense, industrial equipment, and transportation and mobility industries optimize the performance of complex industrial processes and increase operational efficiency.

Dassault Systèmes plans to integrate Diota's solutions into its DELMIA applications. Delmia applications are used to collaboratively model, optimize, and execute in manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, and service industries.

Dassault Systèmes said that by integrating its Diota solution with Delmia, it will “provide an interactive operations solution that connects virtual twins with real-world data, and increase the utilization of digital mockups and related digital processes for manufacturing operations.”

Not only can relevant customers perform complex tasks correctly the first time, but they can also use virtual twins as quality control data to: adopt continuous improvement methods; improve traceability; and leverage intellectual property.

Meanwhile, Diota, founded in France in 2009, provides software solutions for digitally assisted operations and digitally enabled inspection robots. Cutting-edge technologies such as interactive 3D, AR, computer vision, artificial intelligence (AI), and deep learning connect back-office engineering and field operations, responsible for the production and maintenance of manufactured products, to achieve increased productivity, improved product quality, improved work instructions, and enhanced safety.

Diota's solutions are used by more than 100 manufacturing companies in 16 countries worldwide, including BAE Systems, Dassault Aviation, Iveco, Latécoère, Naval Group, ORANO, Safran, Stellantis and Thales Alenia Space.
