Hyundai Autoever has formed a Red Team, where approved internal and external security experts conduct infiltration activities that simulate actual hacker attack strategies, tactics, and procedures, identifying security vulnerabilities and taking the lead in preventing global security incidents.

Hyundai Autoever announced on the 18th that it is launching a 'Red Team-based Simulated Hacking Security Diagnosis Service' to proactively identify and improve cybersecurity vulnerabilities.

A red team is an organization that takes on the role of external hackers and leads attacks in simulated hacking.

Cyber attacks on software supply chains have been on the rise recently.

According to the Linux Foundation, cyberattacks on the software supply chain will increase by an average of 742% annually from 2019 to 2022, and the automotive industry is also experiencing damage, including production disruptions due to cyberattacks.

Hyundai Autoever's Red Team service verifies an organization's ability to effectively respond to real-world attacks through penetration testing of networks and systems, as well as testing of security policies and procedures.

Because the red team performs attacks at the same level as actual hackers, it can determine how vulnerable the organization's security systems and processes are to actual attacks, allowing the organization to Security vulnerabilities can be identified and improved in advance.

Additionally, red team attacks can be used to verify an organization's security response capabilities.

Organizations can see how they respond to red team attacks and how quickly they recover, enabling customers to prevent security incidents by improving security vulnerabilities and strengthening their security response capabilities.

Meanwhile, Hyundai Autoever is conducting security checks on key partners to ensure security across its entire software supply chain and is making improvements to any vulnerabilities discovered.

Following the implementation of an EDR (Endpoint Detection Response) solution to detect cyberattacks on endpoints, the company plans to expand the security solution to its group companies and their overseas subsidiaries to strengthen the security level of the global software supply chain.
