Autonomous Driving Simulation Platform 'Morai Sim' Wins Awards in Convergence New Technology Category
Morai SIM applicable to future mobility such as autonomous driving, UAM, unmanned robots, and unmanned vessels

MORAI SIM, a simulation platform for future mobility, won the Innovation Awards at the Korea Electronics Show 2023 (KES2023), receiving recognition for its technological innovation as well as its efforts and role to date.

Morai announced on the 25th that its autonomous driving simulation platform, 'MORAI SIM,' won the 12th KES Innovation Awards.

The Korea Electronics and Information Communication Industry Association selected 29 innovative products (from 25 companies) across four categories: new convergence technology, electronic components and materials, tech solutions, and smart living, and Morai was recognized for its innovativeness in the new convergence technology category.

MORAI SIM is a simulation platform for future mobility for autonomous drivingIt can be applied to a wide range of unmanned vehicles, including automobiles, UAMs, unmanned robots, and unmanned vessels, and is attracting attention as a virtual verification platform that can accelerate the commercialization of autonomous driving.

MORAI SIM supports testing of the entire process of perception, decision-making, and control of autonomous vehicles, and verifies whether the algorithms installed in the vehicles operate as intended and maintain safety.

This provides a digital twin environment that is nearly identical to reality and enables the modeling of various types of vehicles and sensors.

It allows you to safely and cost-effectively verify various situations in a virtual environment without going out onto the road, and provides realistic test scenarios by automatically generating test scenarios based on datasets acquired from real-world environments.

Situations that are difficult to verify on actual roads, such as the risk of pedestrian collisions, can be performed repeatedly tens of thousands of times.

This enables verification with reliability and safety, which is characterized by supporting autonomous vehicle manufacturers in shortening their time-to-market.

In addition, by assisting in the verification of the safety of autonomous vehicles, it is expected to contribute to enhancing road safety and reducing traffic accidents.

Furthermore, it is expected to contribute to improving traffic and citizen convenience by predicting traffic flow through the control and management of urban traffic environments in a digital twin environment, as well as enhancing the safety of autonomous vehicles.

Morai holds various domestic and international patents, including 'autonomous vehicle simulator applying a network platform' and 'method and system for generating a virtual environment based on precision map data,' and recently obtained ISO 26262 certification, thereby internationally verifying its capabilities.

Meanwhile, the KES Innovation Awards are presented by the Korea Electronics and Information Communications Industry Association to creative and innovative electronic products, and will be announced at KES 2023 (Korea Electronics Show 2023).

KES2023, marking its 54th edition this year, is the largest domestic electronics and IT exhibition hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the KEA, and will be held from October 24 to 27.
