May 23, 2014 – Silicon Labs (Country Manager In-gyu Kim), a global leader in high-performance analog-intensive mixed-signal ICs, announced today the 10th anniversary of the establishment of Silicon Labs International, located in Singapore. Silicon Labs International has served as the international headquarters overseeing Silicon Labs’ Asia-Pacific and Europe regions, excluding the U.S. headquarters, and has supported various key core manufacturing and business functions, including global supply chain management, IC R&D, international finance, product testing, order fulfillment and distribution, and Asia-Pacific sales.

Silicon Labs International was established in Singapore in 2004, eight years after the founding of Silicon Labs headquarters and four years after the company went public. In 2008, Silicon Labs International relocated to its current location in Singapore (6 Serangoon North Avenue 5) due to business expansion and an increase in staff. Over the past few years, Silicon Labs International has grown its workforce to 150 employees, making it the largest overseas entity outside of the headquarters in Austin, Texas. Silicon Labs International consists of nearly 40,000 square feet of office space and engineering laboratories, including test floors and logistics hubs.

Silicon Labs International plays a strategic role in enabling Silicon Labs to be competitive and successful in the global semiconductor industry as well as the rapidly growing Internet of Things (IoT) market. The core of the Singapore entity is an advanced mixed-signal IC design center, where Silicon Labs’ circuit design and application engineering teams are developing energy-friendly 8-bit and ARM-based 32-bit microcontrollers (MCUs) for various IoT applications such as smart homes, wearables, smart energy, and industrial design.

The Silicon Labs International Operations Team manages the entire process of the company's global manufacturing and order fulfillment functions, from the fab to final testing. Silicon Labs, a fabless semiconductor supplier, prioritizes outsourcing production to several wafer fabs in Asia and works closely with industry-leading assembly and test suppliers in the region.

Silicon Labs International's streamlined supply chain management process is crucial for reducing product lead times and helps customers worldwide bring products to market more quickly. Meanwhile, Silicon Labs International's Singapore Test Center enhances the capabilities of outsourced test suppliers and tests a wide range of Silicon Labs products, from mixed-signal MCUs to quartz and CMEMS-based oscillators, using state-of-the-art equipment.

Silicon Labs' Singapore subsidiary operates teams for international finance, sales and customer support, and HR, as well as an IT team.
