June 9, 2014 – QuickLogic Corporation (NASDAQ: QUIK), a leader in low-power Customer Specific Standard Products (CSSP), announced that it has developed a new sensor hub gesture algorithm specifically for wearables.
Long battery life is a critical factor for wearable devices. QuickLogic’s Tap-to-Wake and Rotate-Wrist-To-Wake algorithms enable wearable devices to respond to user movements or gestures without waking up a power-hungry host application processor or microcontroller. These algorithms, developed in-house by QuickLogic, allow OEM customers to quickly and rapidly implement wearable-specific gestures using QuickLogic’s ultra-low-power sensor hub technology (patent pending).
These gesture algorithms are included as standard features with QuickLogic’s S1 Wearable Catalog CSSP (Catalog CSSP: devices designed to meet common elements according to customer requirements and available for immediate purchase without any additional customization) sensor hub solution. This also includes other algorithms and software to meet the short design cycles required by OEMs. These algorithms can be implemented on the ArcticLink® 3 S1 silicon platform using QuickLogic’s Integrated Development Environment (IDE) tools, or they can be used in conjunction with standalone or OEM/third-party algorithms.
