Agilent Korea (CEO-President Yoon Deok-kwon) has launched two new handheld product lines. The Agilent U5855A TrueIR thermal imaging camera provides clear and sharp thermal images with Agilent’s proprietary precise resolution, and the U1450A/60A series consists of five models of insulation resistance meters equipped with remote wireless testing and report generation capabilities.

Focused on preventive maintenance, the U5855A TrueIR thermal imaging camera enables engineers to safely and efficiently identify potential defects without shutting down systems or compromising production plant productivity. The U5855A provides precise resolution that enhances thermal imaging quality by reconstructing images based on multiple consecutive infrared frames. This allows the U5855A to achieve an effective resolution of 320 × 240 pixels from a 160 × 120 pixel detector, offering four times higher resolution than typical 160 × 120 thermal imaging cameras. Additionally, its 4x digital zoom feature is useful for identifying small cracks in industrial pipelines at long distances.
Particularly in the construction sector, overseas countries employ building energy assessors and actively utilize thermal imaging cameras to evaluate building energy efficiency; with Korea also implementing certification exams since last year, it is expected that management systems aligning with international standards for building energy conservation and greenhouse gas reduction will expand.
Dr. Choi Kyung-seok of the Green Building Research Laboratory at the Public Architecture Division of the Korea Institute of Construction Technology stated, “Thermal imaging cameras are the most useful equipment for building energy assessors and diagnosticians to measure insulation losses in buildings, and based on these applications, the demand for thermal imaging cameras for building diagnostics will gradually expand.”
The lightweight and ergonomic design of the Agilent U5855A allows engineers to comfortably use the thermal imaging camera for extended periods and is engineered for one-handed operation in confined spaces. Additionally, users can easily change settings and access frequently used functions, such as LED lights, laser pointers, and auto-scaling, which can be easily triggered via quick access buttons. The U5855A saves time by eliminating the need to connect to a PC, thanks to its built-in camera monitoring and analysis capabilities. The Agilent U1450A/60A series is a 1kV insulation resistance meter that measures leakage current and insulation resistance for preventive maintenance applications, such as verifying the integrity of windings or cables in motors, transformers, and electrical installations. The U1450A/60A series provides report generation software that enables engineers to generate defect-free automated test reports in the form of tables and graphs. All five models have obtained IP 67 certification and are compatible with Agilent’s wireless remote connectivity solutions capable of performing wireless remote isolation tests.
The U1450A/60A series offers two models with an adjustable test voltage range from 10 V to 1.1 kV in 1 V increments for applications requiring specific test voltages. Additionally, a two-in-one insulation resistance meter model with 4.5-digit digital multimeter functionality is also available.
