Keysight Technologies, MediaTek and Keysight Technologies have validated 5G NR and RedCap technologies.

Keysight Technologies, Inc. announced on the 9th that it has verified the latest MediaTek 5G modem technology using its 5G network emulation solution.

With this test, the two companies successfully completed the 5G New Radio (NR) and 5G Reduced Capability (RedCap) interoperability development test (IODT) based on the 3GPP Release 17 (Rel-17) standard.

This test is a critical step in verifying equipment with new 5G specifications. It determines whether the base station and device can establish and maintain a 5G communication link based on specified test conditions.

RedCap interoperability testing conducted by Keysight and MediaTek validated that MediaTek 5G modem technology supports early identification, partial bandwidth (BWP) definition, user equipment (UE) capabilities, radio resource management (RRM) mitigation, network control device-synchronization signaling block (NCD-SSB), sounding reference signal (SRS) enhancements, extended discontinuous reception (eDRX), and physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) for frequency hopping. 5G NR IODT validated chipset-supported Rel-17 features including power savings, small data transfers, and NR coverage enhancements.
