Press conference held on the 16th… Deutsche Messe, the Norwegian Ambassador, and the Korea Robot Industry Association gathered together.
4,000 leading companies from the industrial ecosystem participate, presenting solutions for a sustainable future.
Norway, a partner country for Hannover Messe, accelerates the adoption of carbon-neutral and digital solutions.
KOTRA, the Korea Association of Machinery Industry, and the Korea Robot Industry Association established a joint Korean pavilion, with 33 companies participating.

Deutsche Messe AG, the organizer of the 2024 Hannover Messe, which is being held under the theme of 'Sustainable Industrial Activation,' and the Korea Robot Industry Association, which is responsible for the joint pavilion of Norway and Korea, which are participating as partner countries, gathered together with the countries and organizations leading the Hannover Messe.

On the 16th, Deutsche Messe Korea and the IPR Forum held a press conference for Hannover Messe 2024 at the Westin Chosun Hotel in Seoul, sharing an overview of the fair, Norway's commitment to green transition as a participating partner country, and the Korea Robot Industry Association's exhibition plans.

“We are taking concrete steps towards a carbon-neutral, high-performance industry through the innovative technologies we will see at Hannover Messe in April,” said Hubertus von Monschaw, Global Director at Deutsche Messe, the organizer of Hannover Messe.“We need to provide guidelines for companies to adopt automation, artificial intelligence, and new energy management concepts,” he said. “These issues can only be resolved when the three pillars of new technologies, inter-industry cooperation, and clear policy support are in harmony.”

The 2024 Hannover Messe, held from April 22nd to 26th, presents ways to solve the aforementioned challenges under the theme of "Energizing a Sustainable Industry."

Companies in the fields of mechanical/electrical engineering, digital industry, and energy will participate in this event to present solutions for a sustainable future.

More than 4,000 companies representing the integrated industrial ecosystem will present the impact and role of automation, digitalization, and electrification in achieving carbon neutrality, while key industry trends covered at the expo include artificial intelligence, carbon-neutral production, energy systems, Industry 4.0 and Manufacturing-X, and hydrogen fuel cells.

Global technology companies such as Amazon Web Services, Bosch Rexroth, Google Cloud, Microsoft, Salzgitter, SAP, Schneider Electric, and Siemens have registered as participating companies.

Small and medium-sized enterprises such as Backhoff Automation, EBM-Papst, Festo, Hanwha Q CELLS, Rittal, Turck, and Wago are also participating.

Additionally, over 300 startups will participate, further strengthening the fair's mission of emphasizing entrepreneurship and innovation.

Hydrogen is attracting increasing attention as governments and companies around the world continue to invest in projects to decarbonize sectors such as manufacturing and transportation.

European Hydrogen Fuel Cell Exhibition (Hydrogen + Fuel Cells E)Around 500 companies in the hydrogen and fuel cell industry are expected to participate in the exhibition, including around 300 companies participating in the European Union (EUROPE).

Ambassador Anne Kari Hansen Ovind of Norway and Commercial Counsellor Roger Martinsen also attended the event, representing Norway, which was selected as a partner country for the 2024 Hannover Messe.

As a signatory to the EEA Agreement, Norway is fully integrated into the European market and engages in close trade and investment activities with all EU member states, including Germany.

Norway and Germany are each other's major trading partners and have established a strategic partnership on climate, renewable energy, and green industries to work closely together to achieve a green transition.

Norway has designated 2024 as "Norway 2024: Leading the Green Industrial Transition," demonstrating its strong commitment to transitioning to a low-carbon society, adopting renewable energy, carbon-neutral production, and eco-friendly and digital solutions.

The Norwegian-German Energy Conference, to be held on 23 April 2024 during the expo, will focus on investments in infrastructure, production, transport, storage and distribution. We will cover hydrogen economy business models to strengthen security.

Ambassador Anne Kari Hansen Ovind of Norway to Korea, who attended the press conference, said, “Norway, with its skilled workforce, advanced industrial and energy technologies, high reliability, and stability, is a key partner for the green transition and the most attractive country for businesses.” She added, “I am very pleased to have this opportunity to showcase Norway’s unique business methods and competitiveness through this designation as a partner country.”

“The Norwegian North Sea is key to Europe’s energy supply and plays a crucial role in ensuring energy security by supplying Europe with natural gas, and we aim to supply low-carbon renewable hydrogen in the future,” said Commercial Counsellor Roger Martinsen, presenting a concrete vision.

KOTRA, in collaboration with the Korea Machinery Industry Promotion Association and the Korea Robot Industry Association, will establish a Korean pavilion, and a total of 33 companies, including Rainbow Robotics, Neuromeka, Nara Corporation, and SBB Tech, will participate in 2024.

Last year, 32 companies participated in the Korean joint pavilion and 150 B2 cases wereB Consulting achieved a performance of $21 million in contract discussions and announced that it will continue to actively support companies in 2024.

In addition, global companies such as LS Electric, Hanwha Solutions, and SK will participate, and approximately 70 companies, including joint pavilions, will participate to promote our technologies.

Meanwhile, in relation to the shortage of skilled workers, one of the challenges that the industry must address, this exhibition will be holding a networking program to discover young talent called 'YOUR FUTURE.'

This program supports high school graduates, college students, and young professionals entering the fields of AI, engineering, and robotics, providing opportunities to meet with companies, visit expo sponsors, learn about apprenticeship and training programs, and network with other participants.
