STMicroelectronics Maximizes Wearable Precision Sensing Performance and Choice with New Zero-Drift OP Amp

June 30, 2014, Seoul – STMicroelectronics (ST), a global semiconductor company serving customers across a wide range of electronic applications, has launched the TSZ121 Zero-Drift OP amp family. This new family delivers outstanding performance and is available in popular packages as well as small outlines. It provides industry-leading choice, accuracy, and precision for Internet of Things (IoT) and wearable devices, including temperature sensors, wellness and exercise monitoring products, and automotive control.
This product family consists of chopper-stabilized OP amps with an input offset voltage of 5µV at 25°C and temperature stability of 30nV/°C, making them suitable for front-end signal conditioning or low-side current measurement. Their exceptional precision ensures accuracy without the need for trimming, thereby reducing component count and manufacturing overhead. Additionally, their extremely low drift prevents system performance degradation even at high temperatures without the need for self-correction.
ST's new zero-drift OP-amp combines high accuracy and safety with excellent power consumption relative to speed, making it ideal for control interfaces and sensors in various battery-based IoT applications.
The TSZ121, TSZ122, and TSZ124 belong to ST’s high-precision line of non-switching OP amps, such as the TSV711 and TSV731, providing a wide selection to meet various systems and applications. This product family operates in a voltage range between 1.8V and 5.5V and consumes a standby mode current of less than 40μA at 5V. It also provides a gain-bandwidth product of 400 kHz and has an extremely low input bias current.
The single-channel TSZ121 is pin- and package compatible with equivalent products from other manufacturers. The dual-channel TSZ122 is available in popular MiniSO-8 and SO-8 packages, and a miniature 2mm x 2mm DFN8 package is also available. The TSZ124 quad OP amp is supplied in TSSOP-14 and 3mm x 3mm QFN16 packages. This Zero Drift OP amp family offers the widest range of product choices in the industry.

ST Launches 75V Drive IC Targeting 48V Industrial Motor Driving
ST마이크로일렉트로닉스가 48V급 산업용 구동 시스템 설계에 맞춘 75V 모터 드라이브 IC ‘STSPIN9P’ 시리즈를 공개했다. 새 제품군은 하프 브리지와 풀 브리지 구조로 구성돼 모터 종류와 출력 조건에 따라 설계를 확장할 수 있도록 한 것이 특징이다. 전원 회로와 보호 기능, 전류 감지 회로를 칩에 통합해 시스템 구성을 단순화했으며, 최대 500W급 애플리케이션까지 대응하도록 설계됐다. 회사는 레퍼런스 디자인과 데모 보드도 함께 제공해 산업 자동화, 로보틱스, 펌프, 팬, 조명, 섬유 기계 등에서 개발과 평가를 지원할 계획이다.
