Gcore, a global public cloud and edge computing company, announced on the 7th that it has launched 'FastEdge', a serverless edge computing product.
FastEdge is a low-latency, high-performance solution designed for cloud-native development, enabling you to build responsive and personalized applications without the hassle of server management.
FastEdge builds on Zcore's expertise in cloud technology, AI, and security. This service allows developers to globally deploy distributed applications without the need for server configuration or infrastructure maintenance. It leverages Zcore's robust Content Delivery Network (CDN), which deploys custom code to over 160 edge nodes worldwide.
FastEdge's core high-speed performance stems from its WebAssembly runtime environment. WebAssembly is characterized by extremely short startup times, enabling applications to run several times faster than existing container-based solutions. FastEdge's isolated sandbox environment provides enhanced security, protecting assets from malware and ensuring a consistent, high-performance experience.
FastEdge also streamlines the process of building, testing, and deploying generative AI apps by supporting the execution of lightweight AI models at the edge. This capability eliminates the need for developers to build their own AI infrastructure, significantly reducing the time it takes to launch apps in the rapidly evolving application market.

FastEdge's use cases range from front-end and full-stack developers to network and infrastructure professionals requiring advanced network management solutions. Currently available in beta, FastEdge is available in JavaScript and Rust, with support for Go and other languages planned for the future.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.

Ecolab Expands AI Data Center Cooling Business Through Acquisition of CoolIT
Ecolab has agreed to acquire CoolIT Systems, a liquid cooling company for AI data centers, for approximately $4.75 billion. The transaction is expected to close by Q3 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. CoolIT has been supplying direct-to-chip cooling-based coolant distribution units, cold plates, and manifolds, serving hyperscale data centers and colocation operators as customers. This acquisition is a measure to address the high-heat and high-density server environments created by AI proliferation. Ecolab plans to combine its water management and digital monitoring capabilities with CoolIT's hardware technology to expand its data center cooling business.
