Artesyn Embedded Technologies Launches New 2500 W Platinum High-Efficiency Front-End Distributed Power Supply

Tempe, Arizona [July 16, 2014] — Artesyn Embedded Technologies (formerly the Embedded Computing & Power business unit of Emerson Network Power) today announced the launch of the new DS2500PE-3, a 2500 W power supply that delivers outstanding platinum-level efficiency for telecommunications, computing, data storage, and other systems using distributed power architecture.
The DS2500PE-3 power supply incorporates power management circuitry and generates a primary payload output of 12Vdc/208 A for downstream dc-dc converter supply, along with a rated 3.3Vdc standby output at 2.7A. Despite its compact size of just 293 x 139 mm (11.56 x 5.47 in) footprint and 1U (43 mm or 1.689 in) height, the Artesyn DS2500PE-3 delivers an impressive maximum efficiency of 96%. Active Current Share maximizes cost efficiency by eliminating the need for additional components in very high current applications. The DS2500PE-3 is also a fully digital system compatible with Artesyn's universal PMBus™ graphical user interface, enabling control through an integrated I2C interface using the industry-standard PMBus communication protocol.
