Wonik Materials' performance declined in 2023 due to the semiconductor market downturn.
According to Wonik Materials' 2023 business performance announced on the 26th, sales decreased 32.6% year-on-year to KRW 391.7 billion, while operating profit decreased 72.2% to KRW 24.7 billion. Net income for the period also decreased 69.9% year-on-year to KRW 17.4 billion.
Looking at the disclosed fourth-quarter 2023 performance, sales decreased 52.2% year-on-year to KRW 92.1 billion, and operating profit decreased 71.1% year-on-year to KRW 6.9 billion. Net income for the period recorded a loss of KRW 100 million.
Regarding these performance results, Wonik Materials stated that the reason was the decrease in sales volume due to the semiconductor market downturn.
As for the 2024 outlook, it is expected that customer memory utilization rates will recover and sales will improve.
Meanwhile, Wonik Materials will hold a shareholders' meeting at its Ochang plant on March 28.
