By using the Haptic Bluetooth Kit, system developers can select and test the necessary haptic effects from a library licensed by Immersion. These can be used for almost any type of touch-enabled application, ranging from wearables and portable medical devices to human-machine interface (HMI) panels and augmented reality. The kit is based on the DRV2605 haptic driver for ERM/LRA and the SimpleLink™ Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) CC2541 wireless microcontroller. In addition, this board, which includes an LRA and supports alkaline batteries, can be mounted on any type of surface, enabling faster prototyping and integration. Impressive lighting effects can be achieved by controlling the onboard LEDs using an iOS app.

In addition, developers can rapidly add haptic technology to space-constrained low-power wireless systems, such as touch remotes, smartwatches, and portable insulin pumps, by utilizing TI design references. The Haptic Feedback Reference Design using Bluetooth Low Energy and iOS App (TIDA-00266) includes schematic designs and layout files, test results, sample code, comprehensive user documentation, as well as CAD files for a wrist-worn form factor.
