SAP is introducing Business AI (BA) to its Enterprise Cloud portfolio and expanding collaboration with partners including Google Cloud, Meta, Microsoft, Mistral AI, and NVIDIA.

SAP held its annual conference, 'SAP Sapphire', in Orlando, Florida, USA on the 4th (local time). At the event, SAP announced that it will introduce Business AI (Business AI) to its enterprise cloud portfolio, which supports the world's most mission-critical processes.

SAP provides AI-enabled technologies through expanded collaborations with AWS and Microsoft, as well as partnerships with Google Cloud, Meta, Mistral AI, and NVIDIA.

Some of the AI capabilities SAP is adding include: AI-generated reports in SAP SuccessFactors that support HR managers with compensation recommendations; and predictive capabilities in SAP Sales Cloud that predict which salesperson and product combinations are likely to generate the most sales.

SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) is adding large-scale language models from Amazon Web Services (AWS), Meta, and Mistral AI to its Generative AI Hub. This capability within SAP AI Core will make it easier to build generative AI use cases for SAP applications.

SAP's natural language-generating AI copilot solution, Joule, is also expanding across the SAP solution portfolio. Joule was introduced to the SAP SuccessFactors solution last fall and is now embedded in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, SAP Build, and SAP Integration Suite. It will also be integrated into SAP Ariba and SAP Analytics Cloud solutions by the end of the year. SAP also announced plans to expand the reach of JUUL by integrating it with Microsoft 365's Copilot.

Meanwhile, SAP also emphasized its principles for trustworthy AI at this event. At SAPPHIRE 2024, the event adopted the ten core principles of the UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence. These principles stipulate that AI technologies should be developed and used in a way that respects human rights and contributes to fairness and sustainable development.
