AMD is making a full-fledged push to expand its enterprise AI solutions globally.

AMD announced on July 10, 2024 (Eastern US time) that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Silo AI, Europe's largest private AI research institute, for approximately $665 million.

This transaction represents an important step in AMD's corporate strategy to provide end-to-end AI solutions based on open standards, and is expected to further strengthen AI solution development and rapid implementation for a broad customer base.

Silo AI is headquartered in Helsinki, Finland and operates in Europe and North America.

Silo AI specializes in end-to-end AI-based solutions that enable customers to quickly and easily integrate AI into their products, services, and operations, and is composed of world-class AI scientists and engineers.

Additionally, Silo AI can generate latest open-source multilingual LLMs such as Poro and Viking on the SiloGen model platform and AMD platform.

Meanwhile, over the past 12 months, AMD has made significant efforts to provide end-to-end AI solutions championing open standards through a series of corporate acquisitions and investments to support its AI strategy, including Mipsology and Nod.ai acquired in 2023.
