Seoul, November 13, 2014 Telit Wireless Solutions (CEO Derek Sang, www.telit.com , hereinafter Telit), a company specializing in IoT (Internet of Things) module and platform services, announced today that it has launched the 'Jupiter SL871-S,' a communication module that facilitates easy data transfer between a wide range of GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) applications and GPS-only solutions.

The Jupiter SL871-S is housed in a 9.7 x 10.1 mm LCC package containing an ARM7 processor, embedded ROM memory, and an integrated LNA, and transmits geographic information via a standard UART port using the NMEA protocol. In particular, it supports Advanced Positioning File Injection (A-GPS) and Satellite-based High-Precision Positioning System (SBAS), providing enhanced positional accuracy. Furthermore, it offers perfect pin-to-pin compatibility with the previous model, the SL871, without layout changes, and supports GPS and Japan-specific QZSS.

The Jupiter SL871-S is a model specialized for battery-powered products that ensures maximum battery life by maintaining an optimized balance between accuracy and power consumption through AGPS and intelligent power modes and AGPS that can be utilized in various conditions, including low-power functions. In addition, when hardware/software application variations are made, the xL871 form factor is provided to allow for compatible use of functions within the same design, enabling solution developers to freely select and replace various function sets as needed.
