SiTime's MEMS-based oscillators, clock generators, and resonators surpass 50 million units shipped
Rapid increase in adoption of silicon MEMS timing solutions as alternative to traditional quartz crystal products
Sunnyvale, California, June 6, 2011 – SiTime, an analog semiconductor company, announced today that cumulative shipments of its oscillators, clock generators, and resonators have surpassed 50 million units, driven by growing global demand.
Laurent Robin, MEMS analyst at Yole Développement, stated: "The silicon MEMS timing market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 66.4 percent from 2011 to 2016. This is driven by the rapid increase in electronics companies adopting MEMS technology as a replacement for traditional quartz crystal products. SiTime has established itself as a clear market leader in this rapidly growing segment, capturing 85 percent market share in 2010."
