Conexant Announces CX20708, the World's First Ultra-Wideband Audio Chip for Home Telepresence and Smart TV Applications

New Single-Chip Solution Achieves 'Skype TV Certification'

(Korea Country Manager: Park Kyung-bae), a leader in innovative semiconductor solutions for imaging, audio, video, embedded modem and video surveillance applications, today announced the CX20708, the world's first super wideband (SWB) voice input processor SoC. The CX20708 announced by Conexant today is an ideal solution for home telepresence (video conferencing over networks) and voice recognition applications used in homes, as well as next-generation smart TVs and video game consoles.

The highly integrated CX20708 chip delivers clear, crisp, low-latency, full duplex audio experience through its proprietary ultra-wideband voice processing algorithm. The CX20708 is also an audio component that has achieved 'Skype TV Certification,' which means this chip meets Skype's stringent performance and quality specifications, including superior voice signal-to-noise ratio (S/N), high Mean Opinion Score (MOS) for natural speech, and far-field voice capture up to 5 meters.

For smart TVs and other applications, voice interaction has become one of the important human interfaces, making the product's success entirely dependent on the user's perceived Quality of Experience (QoE).
