Cypress Introduces New High-Density FIFO Memory!
Cypress Korea (CEO Youngdo Lim, www.cypress.com ) announced the launch of a FIFO (First-In, First-Out) memory product with a maximum density of 72 Mbit.
Cypress' new high-density (HD) FIFO memory is particularly well suited for video and imaging applications that require high density and frequency for effective buffering. For more information about the high-density (HD) FIFO, please visit http://www.cypress.com/go/HDFIFO .

The high-density FIFO is a buffering alternative to standard synchronous DRAM memory used with large FPGAs. Cypress's high-density FIFO provides improved signal integrity compared to DRAM-based solutions and operates at a frequency of 133MHz, making it ideal for video frame buffering. The high-density FIFO also provides designers with up to eight separately addressable queues, allowing them to stream multiple video channels simultaneously.
Designers can use more dense FIFOs, which allows them to use smaller FPGAs, thus reducing overall system cost. Cypress's highly integrated FIFOs also reduce design complexity, enabling faster time to market for video and imaging system markets in the broadcast, military, medical and BTS markets.
The new high-density FIFOs are available in 18-Mbit, 36-Mbit and 72-Mbit densities and support multiple I/O standards including 3.3V, 1.8V LVCMOS and HSTL1. Additionally, the high-density FIFO solutions offer user-selectable memory structures and can be configured as x9, x12, x16, x18, x20, x24, x32 or x36 devices, providing designers with the flexibility to select the optimal width and depth. All high-density FIFO densities are available in a scalable 209-ball BGA package.
