H-Grade Temperature Range up to +150°C with Ultra-Low Quiescent Current of Just 3µA

December 12, 2014 – Linear Technology Korea (CEO Hong Sa-gwak) announced the launch of the LT3007, a new H-grade product offering a wider temperature range within the robust PNP-based LDO product family for high-voltage micropower applications. This device features an ultra-low quiescent current of 3µA. The H-grade 150°C junction temperature rating of this device is suitable for high-temperature or high-power automotive and industrial applications. The high input voltage performance of this product provides adjustable output voltage ranging from 0.6V to 44.5V, delivering 2.0V to 45V across a wide range of application operating conditions.

The LT3007 pinout complies with FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis), ensuring that the output remains at or below the regulation voltage if adjacent pins are shorted or a pin is left floating. The device's 3µA quiescent and shutdown current (less than 1µA) realize ultra-low standby power consumption, making it ideal for applications that do not require shutdown or for "keep alive" systems needed for remote monitoring and extended operating time. It is ideal for applications requiring modern output drive performance and high input voltage, such as low-current battery-powered memory for systems requiring extended operation time.

The LT3007 provides a maximum output current of 20mA with a low dropout voltage of only 300mV. Output voltage tolerance is well regulated within ±2% across line, load, and temperature. The IC optimizes stability and transient response using low ESR and ceramic output capacitors as small as 2.2µF. Internal protection circuitry includes reverse battery protection, reverse output and reverse input-to-output protection, current limiting, and thermal limiting for robustness.

The LT3007 is offered in 8-pin SOT-23 package in E, I, and H grades, with both fixed and adjustable versions featuring three pins fused to a ground paddle for improved thermal performance.
