December 16, 2014 – Linear Technology Korea (CEO Hong Sa-kwak) announced the release of a new military-grade MP version (product name: LT3014B), a high-voltage, micropower, low-dropout regulator capable of supplying 20mA output current. The LT3014B operates over a continuous input voltage range of 3V to 80V and generates output voltages from 1.22V to 60V with a low dropout of 350mV, making it ideal for automotive, 48V telecom backup power, and industrial control applications. Its ultra-low standby currents of 7µA (operating) and 1µA (shutdown) make it an excellent choice for battery-powered memory “keep alive” systems requiring optimal operating time.

For high-voltage applications requiring large input-to-output voltage differentials, the LT3014B provides a highly compact and thermally efficient solution. Its small, low-profile ThinSOT™ package enables the creation of the smallest 80V LDOs. The LT3014B operates with very small, low-cost ceramic output capacitors and provides stability even with output capacitors as small as 0.47µF. Since such small external capacitors are common in numerous other regulators, they can be used without the need for essential series resistors. The internal circuitry includes reverse battery protection, current limiting, and thermally limited reverse current protection.
