Bridgelux Announces 3rd Generation LED Array Product Family
Provides outstanding energy efficiency features and cost advantages

June 2, 2011 – Bridgelux Inc., a global developer of LED lighting technology and solutions, announced the launch of its third-generation state-of-the-art LED arrays, including the LS, ES, and award-winning RS product families. These third-generation products feature significant improvements in epitaxial GaN layer growth, LED chip design, and packaging technology, resulting in up to 20% higher efficiency and up to 30% lower cost per lumen compared to previous generations. Additionally, they offer greater system design flexibility, enabling compliance with Energy Star, Title 24, Part L, and other global energy efficiency standards. Furthermore, as they can be configured to meet industry-standard driving currents, the electronic driver selection process has been simplified for users when developing new lamps and lighting products, consequently allowing for faster time-to-market.

Bridgelux products provide light output performance in the 240–10,000 lumen range, continuing to expand the industry's largest range of high-performance, illumination-grade LED light sources. Bridgelux's 3rd generation LS and ES star arrays are now available immediately. The introduction of these energy-efficient and high-flux-density 3rd generation products has enabled the development of new MR-16, GU-10, and A-19 lamp applications. The 800-1,000 lumen ES Star array allows for precise beam control in directional lighting and PAR lamps due to its compact light source size. Bridgelux's 3rd generation ES Rectangle and RS Array are scheduled to be available starting in the third quarter of 2011.

Like the current product line, these third-generation arrays are available in a wide range of color temperatures from 2,700K to 5,600K, and offer three SDCM color control options to enable clean and consistent lighting installations. In addition, multiple CRI (color rendering index) options are provided, giving lamp and lighting manufacturers a greater advantage in terms of design flexibility.
