The new Freescale RF Power Tool system contains the key components necessary for designing innovative RF power applications in a modular, portable device. Because it is fully compatible with various Freescale RF power evaluation boards and reference designs, it simplifies the design process, reduces development costs, and shortens time to market. This system runs directly on a PC or front panel and can start operation in minutes at a much lower cost than existing RF bench setups.

The Freescale RF Power Tool system supports users in defining RF conditions for applications and provides easy system verification, real-time performance monitoring, and data logging capabilities, enabling customers to evaluate the strengths of their applications. This helps reduce the time required for developers to design, develop, evaluate, and update RF power applications such as heating, mobile wireless, ISM, and broadcast products.

The RF Power Tool provides temperature sensing, voltage sensing, and power sensing functions. The integrated Kinetis microcontroller leverages Freescale’s leadership in control solutions and is compatible with Freescale RF evaluation boards ranging from 5W to 1.25kW and 10MHz to 2.5GHz, enabling customers to utilize Freescale’s long-standing expertise in RF power.
