February 13, 2015 – Linear Technology Korea (CEO Hong Sa-kwak) announced the launch of the LTC2373-18, an 8-channel, 18-bit, 1Msps SAR (successive approximation register) ADC that delivers outstanding 100dB SNR performance.
The LTC2373-18 features a programmable sequencer that can store up to 16 control words, enabling configuration of the multiplexer (MUX) and input range. This device offers the ability to easily mix and match fully differential and pseudo-differential input ranges with various MUX channel configurations. Single-ended input signals can be converted to the fully differential input range of the ADC core by sharing a single external driver circuit between the MUXOUT/ADCIN pins available on the device.
The LTC2373-18 is the flagship product in the family of 16-/18-bit 8-channel multiplexed SAR ADCs. This product family communicates through an SPI-compatible interface, offers sample rates of 500ksps and 1Msps, and achieves 100dB SNR at 18-bit and 96dB SNR at 16-bit over a ±4.096V fully differential input range. The LTC2373 product family integrates a precision bandgap reference with low drift and a guaranteed maximum temperature coefficient of 20ppm/ºC, along with a high-performance reference buffer in a compact 25mm² QFN-32 package. The device operates from a single 5V supply and consumes only 40mW at 1Msps.
The LTC2373-18 is available in commercial, industrial, and automotive (–40oC ~ 125oC) temperature grades. The price is $17.35 per unit at 1,000-unit quantity.
