Perseus, a global virtualization and security software company, has strengthened its position in the global automotive technology market as a leading domestic deep tech company through ASIL-D certification.

Perseus announced on the 15th that it has obtained ASIL-D certification, the highest grade of the international standard for automotive functional safety ISO 26262:2018, from the international certification body DNV.

In particular, receiving ASIL-D certification for both the CPU and MCU hypervisor is an industry first, proving unrivaled technological capabilities in cross-platform safety.

ISO 26262 is an international standard for the functional safety of automotive electrical and electronic systems, and ASIL (Automotive Safety Integrity Level) is divided into grades from A to D, with D requiring the highest level of safety assurance.

To obtain ASIL-D certification, one must pass through a multi-stage process including rigorous technical verification by an independent certification body, identification of critical safety components, establishment of a Functional Safety Management System (FSMS), verification of fault injection and redundancy, and independent Functional Safety Assessment (FSA).

With this certification, Perseus meets the requirements of global automakers and key component suppliers We have met essential functional safety requirements and secured a decisive advantage in entering domestic and international markets. In addition, we can accelerate technology integration with existing partners and increase the speed and efficiency of hypervisor deployment upon the launch of new chipsets.

Perseus is the only company to have received ASIL-D certification for both CPU and MCU platforms, providing highly reliable virtualization technology that is easy to integrate into critical automotive safety systems. This serves as a positive signal for investors, expanding collaboration opportunities with automakers, semiconductor manufacturers, and software integrators while reducing market entry risks.

CEO Seo Sang-beom stated, “This certification is a significant milestone verifying the safety and reliability of Perseus technology,” adding, “We will expand cooperation with global automakers and key suppliers and create new opportunities.” His global technological leadership was recognized when he was appointed as an advisory committee member at the Fraunhofer Institute for Software Engineering in Germany in July 2025, becoming the first Korean to hold the position.

Perseus is currently carrying out national projects for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and the Ministry of Science and ICT. After receiving seed investment from Kakao just one month after its founding, it recently attracted Series A investment worth 9.1 billion won, bringing its total accumulated investment to 14 billion won.
