March 19, 2015 – Linear Technology Korea (CEO Hong Sa-kwak) announced the release of the Software Development Kit (SDK) for its SmartMesh IP™ wireless sensor networking product. This product provides the ability to directly program industrial Internet of Things (IoT) applications on embedded ARM Cortex-M3s, running the Micrium μC/OS-II real-time operation system. Users no longer need to use separate processors for sensor interfaces and advanced data analysis, reducing the cost, footprint, and power consumption of integrated wireless sensor nodes. Application development time can be accelerated through libraries of reference source code examples. Based on 6LoWPAN, the SmartMesh IP mesh networking product includes a pre-compiled networking stack to provide network reliability exceeding 99.999% at ultra-low power. This product plays a particularly critical role in IoT applications where industrial wireless sensor networks (WSNs) must be installed in harsh environments and over long distances.

The on-chip Software Development Kit (SDK) provided with the LTC5800-IPM (System-on-Chip) and LTP5901/2-IPM (PCB Module) is designed to enable developers to reliably operate simultaneously with both the pre-compiled SmartMesh IP networking stack and applications. To support the growing developer community for this platform, the DustCloud Developer Community (www.dustcloud.org) provides an interactive forum for developers building applications on SmartMesh IP. This community includes source code, software reference designs, detailed materials on SDKs, as well as developer discussion forums.

• Read and Control Peripherals – General Purpose Input/Output (GPIO) pins, Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) input, Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter (UART), Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) master, Inter-Integrated Circuit (I2C) master, Single-Wind Master

• Process Data – Statistical Analysis and Local Decisions and Control

• Wireless mesh transmission and reception via SmartMesh IP wireless mesh network
