CSR BC6145 fully supports Hands-Free Profile Version 1.6
May 25, 2011 – CSR today unveiled the industry's first Bluetooth audio platform supporting the HFP v. 1.6 Bluetooth profile. The latest hands-free profile, HFP 1.6, supports HD Voice (High Definition) and wideband speech, and CSR’s BC6145 product supporting this is the first hands-free profile-supported mono headset solution that enables OEMs to immediately incorporate high-quality HD Voice capabilities into products under development.
CSR is a solution designed to enable HD voice capabilities across a diverse range of product lines, including mobile phones, headsets, and automotive applications, and is designed to support new profiles across various platforms.
Various mobile carriers have begun offering HD Voice services that provide customers with a new level of voice clarity. The HD Voice services provided by the network will be able to support a wider voice spectrum than consumers have previously experienced. As the voice spectrum increases from 300Hz – 3.4kHz to 50Hz – 7kHz, users can now receive improved sound quality even in noisy environments. In addition, you can receive more accurate peripheral voice control, improved speech-to-text capabilities, and enhanced audio quality features that make the recipient feel closer.
The Bluetooth HFP 1.6 profile is applicable to both mobile phones and Bluetooth accessories and helps expand HD voice services on networks. This technology eliminates the limitations associated with the existing low 8kHz sample rate and reduces loss caused by voice frequencies higher or lower than that. Instead of this method, users can use a 16kHz frequency during voice calls to enjoy more natural voice conversations with improved voice clarity and access other enhanced features.

ST Launches 75V Drive IC Targeting 48V Industrial Motor Driving
ST Microelectronics has unveiled the 'STSPIN9P' series of 75V motor drive ICs tailored for 48V-class industrial drive system design.
