Xilinx Korea (Country Manager Ahn Heung-sik) March 25, 2015 – Xilinx announced the launch of 100G IEEE 802.3bj Reed-Solomon FEC (RS-FEC) IP for data center, service provider, and enterprise applications. This 100G RS-FEC IP enables emerging optical solutions such as SR4, CWDM4, PSM4, and ER4f. Furthermore, using Xilinx 100G IEEE 802.3bj RS-FEC LogiCORE™ IP, customers can accelerate design speeds, meet the demands of mobile and cloud traffic, and speed up time-to-market. These solutions guarantee the minimum time latency required for processing speed-sensitive applications, such as high-performance computing. The 100G RS-FEC LogiCORE™ IP solution seamlessly connects to Xilinx’s integrated or soft 100G Ethernet MAC IP running on Virtex® UltraScale™.

Xilinx is unveiling a complete 100G RS-FEC IP solution for the first time at OFC 2015, held at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California, starting March 24, and is also conducting various technical demonstrations of Finisar and TE Connectivity optical technologies. In these demonstrations, the Virtex UltraScale VU095 FPGA, capable of communicating with the Finisar CFP4 ER4f optical module (Ethernet Alliance: Booth #2531) and the TE QSFP28 SR4 optical module (TE Booth: #1417), is also being showcased.
