TI Korea (CEO Kent Chon, www.ti.com/kr) March 31, 2015 – TI (CEO Kent Chon) announced the launch of a 4-channel buck DC/DC converter featuring a new PMBus/I2C digital interface. This new product is suitable for space-constrained equipment that operates at high ambient temperatures without cooling, such as small cell base stations, infotainment systems, and solid-state devices. Configurable with dual or quad outputs, the TPS65400 DC/DC converter incorporates eight power MOSFETs and boasts the industry's best efficiency of up to 95% in a very small footprint. The TPS65400 consists of four high-current synchronous buck switching regulators with built-in MOSFETs, and since each switching converter provides a 2A or 4A output, it can efficiently drive digital circuits such as processors, FPGAs, ASICs, memory, and digital I/O. In addition, the switching frequency of the converters can be individually adjusted up to 2.2MHz. The TPS65400 can be driven using a single input voltage rail from 4.5V to 18V and supports applications operating with a power distribution bus between 5V or 12V.
