MongoDB has launched a new Strategic Partner Program to support the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and the modernization of existing systems in the Asia-Pacific region. The initiative aims to bridge the technical and organizational gaps that companies experience when transitioning their AI adoption goals to the actual implementation and operation phases.

MongoDB announced the launch of its Asia Pacific Strategic Partner Program in Seoul on the 31st. Operating on an invitation-only basis, the program's core objective is to strengthen collaboration by selecting partners who possess an understanding of regional industry structures and regulatory environments, architectural design capabilities, and customer relationships. Current participating partners include Ziger, SoftwareOne, and ICS Compute.

The company announced plans to expand the size of its partner organization in the Asia-Pacific region by the end of the fiscal year and increase the number of strategically partnered regional partners to four times the current level. This reflects the judgment that, as the adoption of generative AI and the transition of legacy systems proceed simultaneously, a partner system equipped with technical execution capabilities is needed rather than simple distribution and sales-focused collaborations.

MongoDB cited the capability to manage unstructured data as a prerequisite for utilizing AI. According to the company, its platform is designed to enable the deployment of semantic search or generative AI agents on operational data, based on the integration of document models, vector search capabilities, and embedding models. The company explains that the focus is on reducing complexity and costs compared to the approach of configuring a separate technology stack by combining various products.

Bidan Roy, Vice President of Partners at MongoDB Asia Pacific, stated that as the adoption of generative AI and legacy modernization become more complex, a closer and more strategic partner collaboration model has become necessary. He explained that the purpose of this program is to reduce business risks for joint customers and shorten service launch times by focusing investment on partners with local capabilities.

Partners participating in the program are provided with priority access to technical training and certifications. Additionally, partners are selected based on their expertise in responding to regional regulatory environments, such as Singapore’s sovereignty laws or India’s financial regulations. Support also includes blueprints and tools for legacy system migration, as well as joint marketing toolkits and best practices.

MongoDB is a New York-based software company that provides a platform integrating data management, search, real-time analytics, and AI-based data utilization capabilities. However, the company added that its announced expansion of investment in the Asia-Pacific region and increase in the number of partners pertain to future plans, and actual results may vary depending on market conditions and business circumstances.
