Government and Private Sector Join Forces to Usher in 'Agentic AI' Era… National Cooperation Body Officially Launched

As artificial intelligence evolves to a stage where it makes independent judgments and takes action, a new cooperation framework centered on 'Agentic AI' is set to begin operations in Korea.
On the 1st, the Ministry of Science and ICT held a launch ceremony for the 'Agentic AI Alliance' at the L Tower, with the participation of the private, public, academic, and research sectors, and set out to secure leadership in the next-generation artificial intelligence ecosystem.
Agentic AI is characterized by going beyond simply answering questions to performing actual tasks according to user instructions and integrating with various systems.
Recently, there has been an increasing number of cases in the global market where AI agents control personal computers or utilize external tools to complete tasks, heralding a fundamental change in the way artificial intelligence is utilized.
In response to this trend, the government has established a cooperation platform that encompasses the entire process, from technology development and industrial application to institutional reform and ensuring safety.
This alliance is composed of four divisions: industry, technology, ecosystem, and safety and trust, with specialized institutions and companies from each field participating to continue strategic discussions.
The industrial division is manufacturingWe identify AI agent models applicable in various industrial fields, such as finance and content, and promote their demonstration and dissemination through inter-company collaboration.
The technology division focuses on reviewing communication protocols and optimization methods for execution structures to enhance interoperability among AI agents.
The Ecosystem Division plans to establish the distribution structure and accountability system for AI agents, while the Safety and Trust Division plans to focus on developing evaluation criteria and a verification system.
Starting with the approximately 250 companies and institutions that participated in the launch ceremony, the Ministry of Science and ICT plans to continuously expand the scope of participation in the alliance in the future.
Through this, the government expects to strengthen the competitiveness of domestic AI companies and promote the spread of AI services that the public can experience in their daily lives.
At the launch ceremony, Ryu Je-myeong, the Second Vice Minister of Science and ICT, stated, “The center of gravity of competition in artificial intelligence is shifting from the technology itself to ecosystem leadership,” adding, “We will strengthen cooperation centered on the Agentic AI Alliance to secure competitiveness in the global market.”

SKT Pushes for 'One AI Agent Per Employee'... Full-Scale Transition to Field-Oriented AX
SK Telecom is implementing a "one person, one AI agent" system where all employees create and utilize AI agents tailored to their respective tasks. Beyond simple task automation, the initiative aims to expand AX (AI transformation) in a way that allows field employees to independently define problems and design AI tools.
