Samsung Electronics has launched a total of 7 new products for ultraslim PCs from its V-NAND SSD '850 EVO' lineup in 53 countries including Korea, the United States, and China, consisting of 4 'mSATA models' and 3 'M.2 models'.

※ mSATA (Mini SATA): Storage device specification designated by the 'SATA International Organization' (size: 30 x 50mm), primarily used in ultraslim PCs and launched in 4 types (1TB, 500GB, 250GB, 120GB)

M.2 (M dot 2): Ultra-slim storage device specification optimized for ultraslim PCs (size: 22 x 80mm), launched in 3 types (500GB, 250GB, 120GB)

Following the launch of '850 EVO' for desktop PCs and notebooks released last year, the launch of '850 EVO' for ultraslim PCs now enables ultraslim PC users to freely upgrade to faster and higher capacity V-NAND SSDs. These 'mSATA' and 'M.2' models weigh a maximum of 9 grams and 7 grams respectively, approximately one-tenth the weight of conventional 2.5-inch SSDs, and feature read and write speeds of 540 megabytes and 500 megabytes per second respectively, which are the highest SATA SSD standards.

Particularly, with the TurboWrite function, these drives can achieve industry-leading random write speeds of 88,000 IOPS (Input Output Per Second) and random read speeds of 97,000 IOPS, enabling faster data storage and smoother handling of complex multitasking operations. Additionally, by applying the latest ultra-low power circuit specification in standby mode, power consumption has been significantly reduced to 2 milliwatts (mW), cutting energy usage by 97% compared to previous models.

Furthermore, the 1TB and 500GB mSATA SSD products come with a 5-year warranty and guarantee 150TBW (Total Byte Written), which allows for daily storage of 80GB of data, while providing industry-leading security solutions.

Samsung Electronics' strategy is to strengthen its leadership in the consumer SSD market with industry's largest 3D V-NAND SSD lineup and continuously expand the upgrade market. Eun-Soo Kim, Executive Director of Samsung Electronics' Memory Business Division Brand Product Marketing Team, stated, "With the full 850 EVO lineup, all PC users can now enjoy the advantages of V-NAND SSDs," and emphasized, "We will continue to increase the sales proportion of high-capacity products of 500GB and above to further elevate Samsung Electronics' position in the consumer SSD business."

Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics' '850 EVO', launched in December last year, has been setting new sales records every month and leading the premium SSD market centered around high-capacity products of 250GB and 500GB. Samsung Electronics plans to launch SSDs with even higher capacities to lead the high-capacity trend in the SSD market and further accelerate the growth of the premium memory market.
