EVS is a global event known as the EV Olympics where electric vehicle-related companies exhibit their products and present papers through academic seminars. LG Electronics’ Senior Vice President Yang Woong-pil, head of e-PT BD, will deliver a keynote speech on May 5 on the topic of "Long Range EV Battery Pack."

At this year's EVS, LG Electronics unveiled key electric vehicle (EV) components, electronic parts, and automotive engineering technologies. By exhibiting the 'Drive Unit' (drive motor, inverter, and reduction gear), an e-PT (electric PowerTrain) core component, and the 'Electric Compressor,' a key component for EV thermal management, the company demonstrated its accumulated technological prowess. In particular, the 'Electric Compressor' incorporates the know-how LG Electronics has accumulated in the home appliance sector.

LG Electronics garnered attention by unveiling a 48V system for its 'Belt-Integrated Starter and Generator (B-ISG),' which previously operated at 12V. The '48V B-ISG' increases motor output compared to the 12V system and assists the engine, enabling fuel efficiency savings of more than 10% in city driving mode.

They also exhibited an electric vehicle 'LCD instrument cluster,' an electronic component. This LCD instrument cluster ensures system safety by having the automotive processor and graphics processor operate independently. Furthermore, it achieves software stability to provide user-friendly driving information tailored to various driving environments.

LG Electronics unveiled a 'lightweight platform' equipped with its electric vehicle components. This is a platform capable of mounting a battery pack, and by manufacturing it with lightweight composite materials for automobiles and proprietary technology, the weight of the automobile platform can be reduced by approximately 20%.
