Airwallex, a global financial platform company, hosted an offline event inviting domestic customers and partners to commemorate its partnership with Arsenal FC. As an example of collaboration between a sports content company and a fintech firm, the event appears to have focused on expanding brand awareness and strengthening community engagement.

Airwallex announced that it held an 'Arsenal Match Viewing Party' near Seolleung, Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 1st. The event was organized to celebrate Arsenal FC's advancement to the UEFA Champions League final, and approximately 150 people attended.

The event was held in a private, invitation-only format. Key clients, partners, influencers, and sports fans participated in networking activities.

The program consisted of an introduction to the partnership, a special interview, and live match coverage. SPOTV and the Arsenal Korea Supporters Club collaborated to broadcast the Champions League final live on a large screen at the venue.

In the match, Arsenal FC finished as runners-up after losing to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in a penalty shootout following extra time.

At the event, the background of the global partnership between Airwallex and Arsenal FC and the direction of their collaboration were also shared. A discussion was held with Kwon Yoon-ah, Head of SME at Airwallex Korea, Kim Geun-bin, Head of Enterprise, and Lee Sang-hoon, Vice President of the Arsenal Korea Supporters Club.

Attendees shared their views on the business opportunities that the combination of sports and fintech can create in the global market. The company explained that this is significant in expanding touchpoints with corporate clients and communities.

Airwallex also provides a payment system to Arsenal's home stadium, Emirates Stadium. The system is designed to support operational efficiency by integrating hospitality payments within the stadium.

The company stated that it has enhanced the convenience of paying for overseas match viewing products by supporting simple payment methods such as Kakao Pay and Naver Pay, particularly for domestic users.

Airwallex announced that it plans to strengthen the provision of financial services to corporate customers in the domestic market and expand its global payment infrastructure business in the future.
