Korea, Seoul [May 12, 2015] — Artesyn Embedded Technologies today announced the AGF800-48D3005, a new dual-output 800W dc-dc converter that delivers high efficiency and outstanding thermal performance for telecom and server computing applications. The converter is equipped with two outputs operating at 30 V and 5 V respectively, eliminating the need for auxiliary modules and thereby reducing cost and PCB space.

This new dual-output AGF800 product in full-brick format provides 93.5 percent typical efficiency and 2:1 wide input range of 36 – 75 V. The product supplies a maximum output current of 23.3 A at the 30 V output to drive the system's power amplifiers, and supplies an output current of 20 A at the 5 V output to drive all other system electronic components.

With an aluminum baseplate structure, the module can operate at ambient temperatures from -40 to +85°C, and can operate continuously at full power up to a maximum baseplate temperature of 100°C without air cooling. The Artesyn dual-output AGF800 module provides a wide trim range of 20 – 33 V output at 30V nominal output and 3 – 6 V output at 5V nominal output.

Additional features include remote control, remote output sensing, trim functions related to output and power-good functions, and protection functions including input undervoltage protection, output overcurrent protection, output overvoltage protection, and overtemperature protection. With no minimum load requirement for high stability and implementing a high mean time between failures (MTBF) of 28 million hours (calculated according to Telcordia SR-332-2006).
