May 19, 2015 - Vicor (www.vicorpower.com; Regional Director Jung Ki-cheon) has launched an integrated VIA PFM AC-DC front end power module featuring high density and low profile. The VIA PFM AC-DC front end converter module delivers a power density of 8 W/cm³ (127 W/in³) and provides isolated/constant voltage 24 V or 48 V SELV DC output up to 400W. Additionally, it delivers maximum efficiency of 93% across a universal AC voltage range from 85V to 264V.

VIA PFM is more than five times thinner than conventional 1U supplies, providing differentiated design advantages for power system designs constrained by space limitations. With a thickness of 9mm and width of 36mm, VIA PFM can be mounted on any wall surface of existing 1U chassis, thereby reducing overall system space.

The VIA PFM features an easy-to-cool design structure that enables fan removal by utilizing conductive cooling through mechanical mounting. This improves overall system reliability and minimizes power system area. Featuring high density, high efficiency, and low thermal resistance, the VIA PFM front end module is well suited for a wide range of applications including small cell wireless base stations, space-constrained LED lighting applications, and industrial and automation systems.
