Vicor Expands Picor Cool-Power ZVS Regulator Portfolio with New 48 V Buck Regulator
Published2015.06.02 16:50May 26, 2015 - Vicor ( www.vicorpower.com ; CEO Ki-Cheon Jeong) has expanded its Picor Cool-Power™ ZVS Point-of-Load regulator portfolio with the launch of the high-efficiency PI3542, PI3543, PI3545, and PI3546 Buck regulators. The entire Cool-Power portfolio features ease-of-use, high-density, and high-efficiency, enabling customers to achieve faster time-to-market.
Provides high-performance step-down regulation from 48V to PoL
Applying ZVS topology provides the highest efficiency of over 96%
High-density 10 x 10 x 2.5 mm LGA SiP (System in Package) module delivering over 100W of power
Enhanced performance, including constant current control for lighting and battery applications 
The PI354x Cool-Power ZVS Buck regulators feature a high-performance Zero-Voltage Switching (ZVS) topology that enables power conversion from 48V to PoL without performance degradation. Designers can utilize step-down regulation from a high-voltage source to achieve more efficient power distribution, minimize I2R losses, and eliminate costly, inefficient intermediate conversion stages.
The PI354X series operates from 36Vin to 60Vin.
Provides output current up to 10A and output voltage regulation from 2.2V to 14V
Power capacity can be increased by utilizing a single-wire current sharing method without external additional components.
The PI354x Cool-Power ZVS Buck regulators are designed for applications in telecom, network infrastructure, data centers, industrial, battery, and lighting where high-voltage distribution architectures are available.
The PI354x series expands and strengthens Vicor's power component design solutions. When used with Vicor's front-end and factored power products, the PI354x enables the design of a complete power chain, from an AC or HVDC (200 V or higher) source to the point of load (POL).

ST Launches 75V Drive IC Targeting 48V Industrial Motor Driving
ST마이크로일렉트로닉스가 48V급 산업용 구동 시스템 설계에 맞춘 75V 모터 드라이브 IC ‘STSPIN9P’ 시리즈를 공개했다. 새 제품군은 하프 브리지와 풀 브리지 구조로 구성돼 모터 종류와 출력 조건에 따라 설계를 확장할 수 있도록 한 것이 특징이다. 전원 회로와 보호 기능, 전류 감지 회로를 칩에 통합해 시스템 구성을 단순화했으며, 최대 500W급 애플리케이션까지 대응하도록 설계됐다. 회사는 레퍼런스 디자인과 데모 보드도 함께 제공해 산업 자동화, 로보틱스, 펌프, 팬, 조명, 섬유 기계 등에서 개발과 평가를 지원할 계획이다.
