Merck will unveil next-generation electronics industry technologies encompassing OLED, optical, and semiconductor materials at K-Display 2026, the largest display exhibition in Korea.

Merck Korea will participate in K-Display 2026, held at COEX in Seoul from July 22 to 24, and showcase various display and optoelectronic solutions under the theme "The Future of the Electronics Industry Opened by Light."

At this exhibition, Merck introduces solutions in four fields that realize the convergence of optical and semiconductor technologies using light.

In the OLED materials sector, deuterium materials for extending display lifespan and image quality improvement technologies will be unveiled.

In addition, reactive mesogen-based ultra-thin optical films, cholesteric liquid crystal color patterning technology, and optical technology for VR will also be exhibited.

In the liquid crystal sector, high-elasticity liquid crystal solutions for achieving high transmittance and contrast ratios will be introduced, along with photoresists and Resolution Enhancement Technology (RET)-based materials necessary for realizing high resolution in next-generation displays.

Various side events will also be held during the exhibition period.

On the 22nd, a booth tour will be held for industry and academic stakeholders in the display sector, and Junho Kim, Head of Global OLED Material Development, will present 'Merck's Strategy and Technological Direction for Cutting-Edge OLED Materials' at the business forum.

In addition, a program introducing core display technologies will be conducted by inviting students participating in the 'KIDS Display Camp,' which is operated in cooperation with the Korea Institute of Information Display (KIDS).

Merck will continue its technology exchange events at IMID 2026, which will be held at BEXCO in Busan this coming August.

During the event, the winners of the 'Merck Awards,' which are presented to researchers who have contributed to the advancement of display and optoelectronic technologies, will be announced.

In addition, on August 20, Merck Science Connect will host a session on the theme of 'The Evolution of Displays: Multifunctional Integration for the Future AI Era'.

Merck researchers, LG Display officials, and Merck Award winners will participate in this event to share the latest trends in display and optoelectronic technology.
