Linux Foundation to Host 'Open Source Summit Korea 2026' in Seoul in August

The Linux Foundation unveiled the main programs for 'Open Source Summit Korea 2026' on the 31st.
The event will be held for two days from August 11 to 12 at the Grand Intercontinental Parnas Hotel in Seoul.
A total of 68 sessions will be organized, and experts from numerous domestic and international companies and organizations, including Samsung Electronics, SK Telecom, LG Electronics, Hyundai Motor, SK Hynix, AWS, Google, Microsoft, IBM, and Qualcomm, are scheduled to participate as speakers.
The keynote speakers include Lee Hong-lak, President and Chief AI Officer of LG AI Research; Greg Kroah-Hartman, Linux Foundation Fellow and Linux Kernel Maintainer; Priya Nagpurkar, Vice President of IBM AI Native Systems Research; Kim Chan-ran, Senior Developer Relations Manager at NVIDIA; Jim Zemlin, CEO of the Linux Foundation; Ana Jiménez Santamaría, Senior Project Manager at the Linux Foundation; and Lim Moon-young, Member of the 22nd National Assembly.
Angela Brown, Senior Vice President of Events at the Linux Foundation, stated, “There is no more effective way than learning directly from industry experts,” adding, “It will be an opportunity for participants to discover new ideas and learn skills that can be immediately applied to their work.”
The session topic is Linux kernel development and maintenance.It consists of security, AI infrastructure, model deployment, and governance, Kubernetes, OpenStack, containers, and cloud operations, embedded systems, Zephyr, and automotive software, software supply chain, SBOM, and compliance, and OSPO (Open Source Program Office) strategy and open source governance.
Samsung Electronics' experience operating OSPO, AI systems currently in actual operation, and cases of large-scale open source technology deployment will also be covered.
This event is being held concurrently with the MCP Dev Summit Seoul.

Mouser Supplies NXP i.MX 91… Expanding the Foundation for Linux-Based Edge Device Development
Mouser Electronics has begun supplying NXP Semiconductor's i.MX 91 application processor. The i.MX 91 is based on an Arm Cortex-A55 operating at up to 1.4GHz and is designed to enable rapid development of Linux-based edge devices. It targets diverse applications including smart home, IoT, industrial, and medical sectors, and incorporates EdgeLock Secure Enclave to provide security features such as secure boot, tamper detection, and lifecycle management. Support for NXP's long-term product supply assurance program is also included. Mouser supplies the FRDM-IMX91S board and evaluation kit for development validation, supporting early-stage evaluation and design acceleration through wireless connectivity, power consumption measurement, and preliminary demo exploration.

Theori Participated Research Adopts NDSS… Presents New Path for Linux Kernel Attacks
