While the previous Galaxy Z Fold7 was an "ultra-class fold" that concentrated ultra-slim large displays, a 200-megapixel camera, and flagship performance into a single device, the Galaxy Z Fold8 emerged as a product with clearer positioning that prioritizes content immersion and everyday usability. At the same time, Samsung Electronics segmented its foldable lineup by positioning the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra as a separate model.

Galaxy S26 Ultra Ranks #1 in Consumer Reviews in 7 European Countries
Samsung Electronics' Galaxy S26 Ultra ranked first in smartphone evaluations by major consumer associations in seven European countries. In assessments conducted in the UK, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, and Sweden, the device received consistently high scores across overall usability including security features, camera, battery, and display. The evaluation was conducted following the Galaxy S26 series launch on the 11th of last month. Some countries also awarded the 'Best of Test' rating, which is given to top-performing test products. Previously, this product also received the 'Best Exhibition Product Award' at MWC 2026, held in Barcelona, Spain last month.

Samsung Electronics Strengthens Galaxy Security 'Preemptive Blocking'
Samsung Electronics announced on the 17th that it is advancing the Galaxy security system with a threat pre-blocking approach. Starting with 'One UI 9.0' in the second half of this year, phishing apps confirmed as malicious will be blocked not only from installation but also from execution, and security policies will be periodically updated based on data from government agencies including the National Police Agency and KISA. From Galaxy S25 onwards, AI will learn from KISA's monthly 500,000 cases of data to automatically classify smishing, and with the S26's call screening and voice phishing suspicious call alerts, on-device AI will analyze risk levels in real-time. A cumulative 400 million malicious messages have been blocked.
