Published2026.09.15 12:06Nordic presented an ultra-low-power on-device AI strategy centered on Axon NPU, Neuton, and Edge AI Lab. Through an MCP server-based development environment, the company significantly enhanced development productivity by connecting SDKs, documentation, and cloud data with AI. Axon NPU delivers inference speeds up to 15 times faster than CPU and high power efficiency. Neuton performs AI inference with less than 5KB of memory on existing MCUs, achieving speeds up to 10 times faster and ultra-low-power characteristics. Edge AI Lab simplifies the development process by automating model generation and training with just data uploads. Nordic is building an integrated ecosystem spanning wireless SoCs, PMICs, cloud, and security to aggressively pursue the on-device AI market.

Nordic Semiconductor is presenting a platform that enhances edge AI capabilities through new products such as nRF54L and nRF54LM20B, centered on IoT SoCs based on low-power wireless technologies including BLE, Thread, Zigbee, and Matter. By combining Neuton AI, Axon NPU, nRF Connect SDK AI Add-on, and nRF Cloud and Edge AI Lab, the company has enabled AI functions such as real-time sensor data analysis, anomaly detection, and healthcare and industrial monitoring to be implemented at the MCU level. Through this integrated AI and IoT ecosystem, Nordic is supporting next-generation smart device development across various industries. e4ds' 'e4ds Tech Day 2026' held on September 8th at the Korea Science and Technology Hall concluded successfully. This event, centered on SDV and edge AI, focused on presenting practical application standards and utilization directions in actual industrial settings rather than on technology itself. CEO Myung Se-hwan emphasized the 'era of proving technology' and presented the importance of practical decision-making criteria, while Director Gwak Su-jin of the Korea Automobile Research Institute outlined the future mobility ecosystem based on AIDV and Physical AI. Subsequently, Shin Dong-joo, CEO of Mobilint, explained the role of edge AI semiconductors as core infrastructure in the Physical AI era. At the end of the event, the TechDay Contest 2026 awards ceremony and winning project presentations were held, sharing actual technology implementation cases and presenting a vision for building a collective intelligence ecosystem in the industrial field. The awards in this ceremony were presented respectively by Mouser Electronics and STMicroelectronics, both platinum sponsors of e4ds Tech Day 2026. 임성일 텍사스 인스트루먼트(Texas Instruments, TI) 상무가 지난 8일 열린 ‘e4ds Tech Day 2026’에서 엣지 AI가 더 이상 고가 SoC의 영역이 아니며, 1달러 MCU에서도 구현 가능한 시대가 열렸다고 강조했다. 핵심은 자체 NPU ‘TinyEngine’으로, MCU 대비 AI 추론 지연을 90배 줄이고 전력은 120배 절감한다. MCU·NPU 병렬 구조로 제어와 추론을 분리해 효율을 높였으며, 예지보전·가전·웨어러블·로봇 등 다양한 산업에 적용 가능하다. AM13E23019 MCU는 Cortex‑M33·TinyEngine·아날로그 기능을 통합해 BOM 비용을 30% 절감한다.
