Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI) has been selected as a government-sponsored excellence institution in recognition of its intellectual property management capabilities, including patent creation and utilization. Three consecutive years of participation in the retained patent diagnosis project and patent management achievements such as registration with international standard patent pools are cited as key factors.

 

KETI announced on the 14th that it has been selected as an excellence institution in the retained patent diagnosis sector of the '2026 Intellectual Property Management Excellence Institution' designated by the Intellectual Property Office and Korea Patent Strategy Development Institute (KISTA).

 

With the selection as an excellence institution, KETI receives support from the Intellectual Property Office in the form of 'intellectual property points' that can be used for patent application and registration costs for up to three years.

The support scale corresponds to 40% of the previous year's filing fees, examination request fees, and initial three-year registration fees, and 20% of registration fees for years 4 through 9.

KETI President Roh Gun-ki stated, "This recognition is the result of active efforts to ensure that retained patents are actually used in industrial fields," and added, "We will continue our efforts in creating excellent patents and technology transfer."
