Korea Institute of Materials Science and Pukyong National University Launch 'Marine AI Materials Research Center'

Based on its research capabilities in energy and environmental materials, the Korea Institute of Materials Science will collaborate with Pukyong National University to promote technology development related to eco-friendly and smart marine new industries.
Both institutions announced plans to cultivate the center as a core research hub for marine materials in the southeastern region.
Both institutions plan to accelerate marine field AI materials research cooperation with this plaque unveiling ceremony as an opportunity.

Materials Research Institute of Korea, Development of Lead-Free Perovskite-Based Ammonia Gas Sensor
The Korea Institute of Materials Science has developed an ultra-high sensitivity ammonia gas sensor applying lead-free perovskite instead of lead-based materials. This sensor can detect minute leaks at the level of 1ppm, and the newly identified operating principle presents a new direction for gas sensor research. It is expected to be utilized in enhancing the safety of hydrogen and ammonia energy infrastructure.
