Information Security Management System (ISMS) Construction Completed, Foundation Established for NIS2 and Cyber Resilience Act Compliance

Hilscher, an industrial communication and automation solutions company, has acquired international information security management certification and is strengthening its cyber security competitiveness.

Hilscher announced on the 18th that it has acquired Information Security Management System (ISMS) certification based on ISO/IEC 27001.

The certification audit was conducted by DQS (German Society for the Certification of Management Systems), a German management system certification body, at Hilscher's headquarters located in Harteshheim, Germany. TUV Rheinland i-sec provided consulting support throughout the certification process.

ISO/IEC 27001 is an international standard for establishing information security management systems, and is a certification that evaluates information asset protection, risk management, and the operation of security control systems.

Securing Foundation for Enhanced Regulatory Compliance

Hilscher explained that through this certification, the company has established a system to systematically protect information assets and structurally evaluate and manage risks.

In particular, the company has established a foundation to respond to strengthened regulatory environments such as the European Union's NIS2 (Network and Information Security Directive 2) and the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).

The company disclosed that it has established a management system to protect critical assets such as development data, project documents, and customer information across the entire value chain.

Also Pursuing IEC 62443 Certification Preparation

Hilscher plans to strengthen compliance with IEC 62443, the industrial control system security standard, based on ISO/IEC 27001 certification.

IEC 62443 is an international standard addressing cyber security for industrial automation and control systems, and stipulates security systems across industrial networks and product development.

Thomas Rauch, Hilscher Chief Technology Officer (CTO), explained that information security is a key element for trust among customers, partners, and employees.

Frank Behnke, Head of IT and Security, stated that while ISO/IEC 27001 is the foundation for establishing information security systems at the organizational level, IEC 62443 will be the next step to strengthen product and development stage security.
