SiBEAM, Inc., a subsidiary of Lattice Semiconductor (SiBEAM, Inc.), has announced new WirelessHD transmitter and receiver modules operating in the millimeter-wave band above 60GHz.

Based on WirelessHD chipsets, these modules transmit 1080p video streams at speeds up to 60fps without visual loss, and can serve as a replacement for video cables in medical or industrial environments where cables may pose a safety risk.

Because the wireless connection method eliminates the need for video cable maintenance and sterilization, it can also reduce the total cost of ownership in medical and industrial cleanroom environments.

SiBEAM's WirelessHD MOD6320-T transmitter and MOD6321-R receiver modules connect to the host board and provide wireless video connection between HDMI^® sources and displays. Because they have obtained approvals for various wireless regulations, these modules significantly reduce the complexity associated with wireless performance design, testing, and compatibility standards in wireless system design.
