Agilent PXT Wireless Communication Test Set, LTE Inter-RAT Handover Support

Agilent Korea (CEO Seung-Yeol Kim) announced that, as LTE commercialization becomes a reality, it has equipped its 'E6621A PXT wireless communication test set' with an Inter-RAT test function, enabling simpler and more efficient development and performance verification of LTE terminals.

LTE networks use 2G and 3G as alternative infrastructure in areas where LTE services are not available. In this case, terminals require processes to find neighboring cells or generate reports for cell selection and handover. These processes cause terminal overload, resulting in slow or unsupported handovers and ultimately causing the connection to be lost.

Agilent’s Inter-RAT test function supports handover functions requested by both the terminal and the base station, providing LTE base station emulator configuration and base station emulation for existing technologies in conjunction with the Agilent 8960. It also supports test automation for repeatable and efficient measurement reporting, enabling efficient LTE terminal design and performance verification to ensure a complete terminal launch.
