Anritsu Launches Shockline VNA Solution to Reduce Test Costs

Anritsu Company announced the introduction of an E-band option for the ShockLine™ MS46500B series Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) with 2-port and 4-port functionality.
This option meets market demands to reduce test costs for E-band components. The MS46500B series equipped with this option reduces production costs and enables more efficient performance validation of high-frequency passive components such as antennas, filters, and duplexers during manufacturing.
Along with E-band frequency performance, Anritsu introduced 20 GHz and 40 GHz options for the ShockLine MS46500B series. The MS46500B VNA equipped with these options satisfies measurement requirements for S-parameters and time-domain related to microwave applications.
Cost-Effective E-Band Solution
The MS46500B with 55 GHz to 92 GHz E-band frequency option provides outstanding high performance and cost-effectiveness in the E-band VNA market, offering a solid foundation for selecting expensive wideband systems as a better alternative in cost-sensitive applications.
Available in 2-port and 4-port configurations, this product expands the frequency range of the ShockLine VNA product family, enabling the MS46500B to ideally support testing of millimeter-wave passive components used in 5G small cell networks, driver assistance/collision avoidance radar, near/far-field antennas, and personal communication applications.
The new 20 GHz and 40 GHz options add performance capabilities previously unavailable in existing ShockLine microwave VNAs, including power control and LRL/LRM calibration functions. Through microwave options, the MS46500B is ideal for testing components used in network equipment, automotive, signal integrity, and system integration applications. The ShockLine MS46500B series is well-suited for integration into measurement systems thanks to its 120 dB dynamic range at 40 GHz, complete remote programming capability, and compact 3U rack-mountable package.
The 2-port MS46522B and 4-port MS46524B VNAs use identical software, command syntax, drivers, and programming environments with other ShockLine instruments. The powerful capabilities enable reuse of program code written for the ShockLine product family VNA from E-band and microwave instruments with little or no modification required.
ShockLine software also provides a powerful graphical user interface (GUI) for manual test environments. When attached with user-supplied touch-screen monitors, the GUI of all functions provides comprehensive capabilities including network extraction, embedded/de-embedded networks, and time-domain measurements including Time Gate functionality. Developing and troubleshooting test programs is facilitated by advanced marker functionality, Limit line, and other software features.
The ShockLine MS46500B VNA series provides industry-leading dynamic range of 140 dB at 2 GHz and exceeds 120 dB at up to 40 GHz, while offering sweep time and the industry's best maximum output power, all at an economical price.
This series is one of five ShockLine series featuring 1, 2, and 4-port model configurations. All ShockLine VNAs are designed with LAN or USB interfaces to fit any test environment, enabling economical testing of passive devices in cost-sensitive manufacturing, engineering, and educational applications.

European Patent Applications Surpass 200,000 for the First Time… South Korea Maintains 5th Place, Led by Batteries and Telecommunications
According to the European Patent Office (EPO)'s 'Technology Dashboard 2025', European patent applications last year reached 201,974, surpassing 200,000 for the first time. Korean companies and inventors filed 14,355 applications, representing a 9.5% increase from the previous year and maintaining 5th place by country. Battery, digital communication, and semiconductor technologies led the growth, with Samsung ranking as the top EPO applicant for the second consecutive year and LG reaching 3rd place. The presence of major domestic cities such as Seoul, Suwon, and Yongin was also confirmed. It was also revealed that Korea's European patent strategy is expanding beyond individual technologies to span the entire industry.

SK Telecom First Applies AI-Based Network Operations at Gwanghwamun K-Pop Concert
SK Telecom announced that it applied an AI-based network operation system for the first time at a large-scale K-pop concert held in the Gwanghwamun area of Seoul on March 21st, managing communication quality throughout the event. Mobile data usage during the three hours before and after the concert reached 12.15TB, approximately doubling compared to the same time slot the previous weekend. SK Telecom monitored traffic using the AI system 'A-One' in five-minute and 50-meter units to respond to potential overload situations, while also operating temporary communication facilities and on-site personnel in parallel. This case is interpreted as confirmation of the practical applicability of AI-based autonomous network operation in an environment where demand from dense events and foreign users increases simultaneously.
