Cognex, launches new vision sensor combining functionality of In-Sight vision system with convenience
Published2015.12.16 17:13Cognex (www.cognex.co.kr), a machine vision specialist, announced the launch of a new product line of In-Sight® 2000 series that combines the powerful functionality of In-Sight vision systems with the ease of use and cost-effectiveness of vision sensors.
This vision sensor, well-suited for resolving simple defect verification applications, incorporates proven In-Sight vision tools, simple setup, and a modular design based on field-replaceable lighting and optical components, thereby establishing new standards in terms of value, ease of use, and flexibility, according to the company.
Joerg Kuechen, Vice President and Vision Products Business Unit Manager at Cognex, stated, "Manufacturers worldwide have been using In-Sight vision systems for over 15 years to improve product quality, increase throughput, and reduce waste. Now, manufacturers want to extend vision technology to even the simplest applications in a cost-effective manner using the same setup software they use to solve the most demanding vision tasks."
He further noted, "The In-Sight 2000 series can be readily applied to simple vision applications immediately upon purchase, and provides the same reliable performance expected from In-Sight vision systems."
The In-Sight 2000 series integrates a high-performance image formation system consisting of field-replaceable lenses and a patented LED ring light that evenly distributes illumination across the entire image, eliminating the need for additional expensive external lighting. Customers can easily swap lenses according to application requirements and change the color of the integrated ring light.
The In-Sight 2000 series features an embedded In-Sight Explorer EasyBuilder interface that provides rapid step-by-step application setup, enabling even novice users to achieve highly reliable inspection performance in virtually any production environment.
Cognex successfully demonstrated the In-Sight 2000 series at the SPS IPC Drives exhibition held in Nuremberg, Germany. In-Sight 2000 is scheduled to be available from January 25, 2016.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. Ecolab Expands AI Data Center Cooling Business Through Acquisition of CoolIT
Ecolab has agreed to acquire CoolIT Systems, a liquid cooling company for AI data centers, for approximately $4.75 billion. The transaction is expected to close by Q3 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. CoolIT has been supplying direct-to-chip cooling-based coolant distribution units, cold plates, and manifolds, serving hyperscale data centers and colocation operators as customers. This acquisition is a measure to address the high-heat and high-density server environments created by AI proliferation.
