LG Smart TVs control home appliances with webOS

LG Electronics webOS Smart TVs conveniently control home appliances.
LG Electronics recently had the smart home features of its webOS smart TV verified by UL (Underwriter Laboratories), a global safety certification organization.
Users can view the real-time electricity usage and operating status of smart appliances, such as washing machines, refrigerators, air conditioners, robot vacuums, ovens, and lighting, on LG Smart TVs running webOS 3.0. They can also turn the power on and off or change operating modes. In particular, they can control smart appliances all at once. For example, while watching TV in the bedroom, one can operate the robot vacuum in the living room, receive a notification when the oven finishes cooking, and turn on the lights.
LG Electronics plans to unveil a UL-verified webOS smart TV at CES 2016 in Las Vegas, USA, early next month.
Kim Sang-yeol, Senior Vice President of LG Electronics’ TV Product Planning FD, emphasized, “We will continue to lead the global market with webOS smart TVs that provide a convenient smart home environment.”
