High-definition network camera donation

Axis announced that it donated high-definition network cameras to the Jowon Community Children's Center and Seomkim Community Children's Center in Gwanak-gu, Seoul, as part of the 'Axis SafeKids Campaign.'

Since 2013, Axis has been supporting local children's centers through the 'Axis Safe Kids Campaign' to provide a safer educational environment for children and prevent accidents from occurring in child protection facilities.

This time, Axis Korea comprehensively considered the necessity of surveillance cameras, financial requirements, and preventive effects, and after discussions with the Gwanak-gu Senior Citizens and Youth Division, ultimately selected the Gwanak-gu Jowon Community Children's Center and the Seomkim House Community Children's Center.

For this campaign, Axis provided network cameras and Axis Camera Companion, a video management software, and the camera installation was made possible through a talent donation from Axis Solution Silver Partner, Seogwang Enertech.

Support for identifying the area around the child center and those entering and exiting

The Jowon Regional Children's Center is located in an alley with a lot of traffic.At night, children coming and going from the center were constantly watched, and adults occasionally came drinking and smoking, raising concerns about the children's safety and daily life. For this reason, the center had previously received support for a single analog CCTV camera, but its resolution was so low that it could barely distinguish colors. Recently, even that camera malfunctioned, rendering it unusable.

Accordingly, after an Axis engineer inspected the site and consulted with center officials, it was decided to install a network camera on the center's exterior wall to identify people entering and exiting the center and to confirm the direction of children's return home, thereby enabling effective video surveillance.

The camera's image quality is very clear and sharp, and I believe it will play a significant role in ensuring children's safety. The Axis Camera Companion is also easy to use, so there are no major difficulties. I'm truly grateful to Axis Korea for providing such a great product."

The Seomkimjip Community Children's Center is located in a redevelopment zone, leaving the surrounding environment extremely run-down. The children and teachers alike were concerned about getting home at night. The area is particularly crowded with bars and redevelopment vehicles, requiring regular police patrols to ensure public safety. Moreover, some of the center's children's families had alcoholics, posing a constant threat to the safety of the children and teachers. To address this, Axis installed network cameras at the stairwells leading outside and at the entrances to the center, enabling the center to detect intruders and identify those entering and exiting.

Axis Camera Companion, a video management software donated by Axis along with the network cameras, provides the ability to view real-time video and search for recorded video via a smartphone or PC anytime, anywhere with internet access, helping center staff monitor children and the surrounding area more efficiently.
